Cash Counter by Magicstack
Last updated: 22 August 2026

Cash Counter (“the App”) is a shop ledger for recording sales, expenses, and cash. This policy explains what information the App uses and why. We do not sell your data.

1. Data stored on your device

Shop records (sales, expenses, cash movements, cafe/shop name, PIN hash, and biometric unlock preference) are stored locally on your phone. They are not sent to Magicstack servers. We do not operate a backend for this App.

2. Google Sign-In and Google Drive backup

If you connect Google Drive backup, you sign in with your Google account. The App requests access only to files it creates (Google Drive drive.file scope). Backup files are saved in a folder named “Cash Counter” in your Google Drive.

Your Google email is used on the device to show the connected account. Magicstack does not receive your Google password or a copy of your ledger unless you choose to share it yourself.

You can disconnect Google or delete the backup from Drive and from App settings (including delete account, which clears local data). To request deletion, use this data deletion page or email hello@magicstack.dev.

3. SMS permission (Android)

The App may request READ_SMS so you can optionally import payment/credit amounts from bank or UPI SMS into the day’s sales total. Messages are read on the device only. SMS content is not uploaded to Magicstack or to Google Drive as SMS. You can deny this permission; the rest of the App still works.

4. Internet, biometrics, and security

5. What we do not do

6. Children

The App is intended for shop owners and staff. It is not directed at children under 13.

7. Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the revised policy.
